The universe is conspiring against me...

You know when everything that CAN go wrong, goes wrong? Well, I've had one of those weeks.

First of all....you all know Bonnie had puppies which you'd think wouldn't be too much like hard work for me but, maybe I'm just a sucker but I've been watching over the bloody little mewling things like a mother hen! Making sure the runt gets her turn at a nipple, putting them back in "bed", making sure Bonnie doesn't squash any more (yes - we only have 9 puppies now) etc etc etc. They also make enough noise to wake the dead, so between Bonnie panting and the puppies mewling and Bonnie then clack clack clacking up and down the passage, I've taken to sleeping in the spare room. I'm also up about three / four times a night with either Jason crying or Bonnie wanting to go out...

Then....one of the terminals on my car is loose so every now and then the car won't start so I have to get out and wiggle it which gets quite embarassing when someone is waiting for your bay for example! It's also revoltingly dirty.

Also...about five light bulbs have gone in the last week. One of them is in the study...hence I am working by laptop light and the other one is the one in the laundry. Fortunately I haven't put anything on the cottons cycle yet...but watch this space!!

Another thing....the inspection hatch under the bath in the kid's room doesn't have a cover on so the cats have a ball under there rolling in the dirt etc but Bonnie has also discovered there is a hole there and for some or other reason has tried to fit herself in it. You can just imagine a Labrador trying to get in hey? So now because of all her efforts, she has managed to TOTALLY destroy the U bend drain under the bath (which is really crappy quality plastic anyway) so for the last couple of nights I've had to mop up in the bathroom after bathtime because otherwise it'll seep onto the laminate floor in the boy's bedroom.

(one of the joys of working by laptop light....the moth's think it's FAB) aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!

Then....Mike comes home on Saturday night with ONE item of luggage out of FOUR that he checked in. And guess what it is.....F%$#KING NOTEPADS FOR THE COMPANY!!!! I ordered some stuff from Kalahari and Pick 'n Pay and some Kitz Solutions and some more Earth Babies nappies and had been looking forward to getting them for like three weeks and ACSA goes and "loses" them!!!! Fortunately however, SAA flies daily from JNB now so the luggage was on last night's flight and we went and fetched it today. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...or so I thought!

After schlepping to Entebbe (which is about an hour's drive from Kampala even thought it's only about 44km's) we arrived home and ripped open the suitcases to see all our treasure. Mike bought Nicholas and Jason some really cute jarmies and Nicholas got a Ben 10 Omnitrix and Jason got a Pooh Bear night light thingy that plays a little tune so they were thrilled!!! I got the Pick 'n Pay stuff (Smash, Mrs Balls, 2 litres Robertson Chardonnay, two boxes Twinings Earl Grey tea, Infacare formula for Jason, powdered mustard and Dyant), the Kitz Solutions and the Nappies. but NO F&^%ING KALAHARI PARCEL!!!! To say I'm livid would be an understatement. I was REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to curling up in bed tonight with a cup of earl grey and the new Sophie Kinsella. I am absolutely GUTTED!!! I know I can order it from Aristoc (a local bookseller) but Mike was going to be there so it would be soooo much quicker to order it from Kalahari.

Mike and I are now not talking to each other because he didn't check that he had everything and he says he did. F$#K knows when I'm going to get my stuff now. It's in Stellenbosch so it's not even like I can get it when I'm in SA next month.

I think I'm going to go and throw the chipped mug against a wall.
