So ja....I've been a bit scarce. Mostly because the laptop is upstairs now and I'm usually downstairs - I know...really lame and lazy excuse but it's pretty much true!!! *blush*
I've got sooooo many things going on in my head at the moment and everything is a bit of a whirl and I don't like to sit down and think too much because believe it or believe it not....I've started having anxiety attacks. They only seem to strike when I sit down and think too much so I keep myself very very busy.
I don't know why I get them or what causes them but they are HORRIBLE!!! I get this overwhelming sense of dread, I get images of a cartoon or something flashing through my head and my heart starts racing and my skin starts prickling and then I break into a sweat. I actually thought there was something seriously wrong with me physically so I bit the bullet and went to a doctor who did a whole pile of checks and asked a whole pile of questions and then told me that she thinks it's anxiety attacks which kind of knocked me off my chair. I mean really.....ME???? ANXIETY ATTACKS???? NO WAYS!!!! So since then I've been more aware of them and done a bit of Googling and I've got to agree with her....I'm suffering from Anxiety Attacks.
So....she has referred me to a psychologist to try and establish what is going on. Except the psychologist can only see me on the 17th. Fabulous hey?
Onto happier things.....
Jason has a) FINALLY started saying his name is Jason and not Boy :-) and b) calling my Dad Grandad instead of Daddy :-) and c) will be starting Kindergarten on 29 October after the half term break :-( I think he'll settle in fine - he LOVES being around other kids and last week when I went to fetch Nix, I had to go and find Jason in the playground because he had wandered off to play with them!
Nix got 10/10 for his first spelling test...good eh? I met with his new teacher last week - turns out he's a bit of a shite in class and has to be separated from his posse!!!!!!! BUT....he still picks things up in class and amazes the teacher with his understanding even though he didn't appear to be listening.
How bizzare is this....? The sighting of the new moon was made on Monday night which means that Eidwas on Tuesday so a public holiday was declared. Which meant that there was no school yesterday either which meant that the cellular networks were buzzing with text messages between parents to say that school is closed. That was wierd for me....my first experience of how many Muslims there are in Uganda. I know there are Muslims...I hear the Muezzins praying every night and morning but I didn't realise it was soooooo "big".
The house is ALMOST right...the mozzie nets are FINALLY complete and the painter just needs to do one or two more window frames and the wooden floor needs to be laid in the boy's room and then I can FINALLY settle in properly. Will post some pics one day when that happens!! At least we hung pictures yesterday :-)

Oh dear Sarah - I wander what triggered the anxiety attacks :( I've heard of more and more people suffering from them and it doesn't sound like a pleasant experience at all. I hope the psych will be able to help you sort things out on the 17th. Will be thinking of you next week my friend ((Hugs))

by the boy's room ... do you mean Jason???!!!! Am ever so proud of Nix on his spelling. It's a really big deal (and will be for a few years to come no doubt).
Bad luck on the attacks ... can't be pleasant at all. But at least you know what's wrong and can start working on making it right again.
Wish you would come visit us in Oz ... miss you plenty!
